There are many people like Dr. Nudrat Ahmed who do not want to recognize that Islamic extremism threatens the West. A vast majority of Muslims just try to ignore the issue.

Islam as a faith has lost touch with the modern age and has become a prisoner of the conservative mullahs. The fear factor which dominates the faith forbids its followers to see reason. It wants unquestioned obedience of all dogmas, thereby creating an impregnable wall between religion and reason. Dr. Ahmed should try to bring down that wall of ignorance rather than showing compassion for the extremists.
