The two articles below capture some of the key things driving Canada's foreign policies towards the China.
A number of various players have played important roles like Pierre Trudeau, Paul Martin senior, Maurice Strong, Paul Martin junior, Paul Lin, and of course Paul Desmarais.
The Liberal government has refrained from condemning Chinese human rights abuses. China's leader's were given warm welcomes when they visited Canada; so too were the head of China's intelligence who was involved in China's murderous Cultural Revolution and later the PLA general who carried out the Tiananmen Square massacre.
Because of the government's hype about trade with China potentially creating prosperity in Canada, few could conceive that China posed any threat to Canada. Most are convinced China is benign and fast becoming one of Canada's main strategic trading partners.
China is seeking power; planning to dominate Asia and the world. Much of the billions earned by China by its arms sales and trade with the West is used to finance the modernization of the People's Liberation Army and weaponry; while its leading families line their own pockets.
Neither the Canadian government nor most of the media has warned Canadians nor businesses about what is actually going on in China. The Canadian government does not want Canadians to learn China's strategy of trade, influence buying, and espionage to achieve their goals of building modern military weapons and to support the aims of the PLA and ultimately the Communist Party . Because to do so would be tantamount to a confession of gross negligence, corruption, and an admission of their complicity in supporting this heinous regime.
