This all reminds me of the situation in the 1930's when Germany was on the rise and slowly taking over.
It is almosy eery how similar this is: a few brave voices shouting that this is tyranny happening, and being shouted down by everyone else that it was nothing, Germany was the victim, leave her alone, Hitler is a democratically elected leader, blah blah blah.
Thank goodness for Churchill, who persevered, in spite of being derided as a war-mongerer.
We'd all be goose-stepping today.
