As a Canadian who emigrated from Czechoslovakia after the Soviet invasion of the country in 1968,
I lived through the days of Munich, the following German occupation and WW2. Obviously, most of
present day Western governments did not excell in studies of history, and naively believe as
Mr. Chamberlain did, that they can "Save peace for our generation". That "peace" was costing about
40 million lives and wide spread ruin. Do we want history to repeat itself? And if it should happen,
will we have another Winston Churchill?
I fully endorse Mr. Harper's position on the situation in the Middle East. Sticking head in the sand
does not solve problems, firm stands do.
