Why I'm ashamed to be a Jew

I'm ashamed to be a Jew because Zionism and Israel do things in the name of Jews such as kidnapping thousands of Palestinians, throwing them into prisons without any legal representation, no trials and no charges, some for months, and even some for years.

I'm ashamed to be a Jew because Israeli Zionist education teaches that being Jewish is superior to all others and is so reflected in Israel's policies and laws. Education is not only what you're taught in school, but the kind of environment which you're brought up in. Certainly, young Germans learned that in the 1930's even had they not gone to school.

I'm ashamed to be a Jew because of all the homes that Israel has bulldozed to the ground leaving thousands of Palestinians homeless as a form of collective punishment,most of whom have been children.

I'm ashamed to be a Jew because of all the young Palestinian children that the Israeli defense forces have killed just for throwing stones, yet run like cowards away from fanatical Jewish settlers when they themselves have been attacked.

I'm ashamed to be a Jew because of the way Jewish settlers can harrass, insult, humiliate, beat and attack Palestinians with impunity while the Israeli army, the occupier who is supposed to be protecting the civiian population, looks silently on, if they themselves are not involved with taking part in such brutalities.

I am ashamed to be a Jew because of the ethnic cleansing carried out in my name.

I am ashamed to be a Jew because of the apartheid laws that Israel inflicts on the Palestinians because they are not Jews. while destroying their lives, their lands, and their livelihoods.

I am ashamed to be a Jew because the very laws that gives all Jews citizenship to Israel is practically the same racist criteria that the Nazis used in their vile Nuremberg Laws to strip Jews of their citizenship, except now it is the Palestinian refugees who are denied citizenship to the very land where they were expelled because they are not Jews.

I am ashamed to be a Jew because Hezbollah and Hamas are groups who were all borne out of Israel's invasions and/or occupations and did not exist prior to that.

I am ashamed to be a Jew because of the lies and distortions made by some Jews such as Bruce in New York City. The truth of the matter is that those Jews who do demonstrate and protest to protect the right of the Arab minority in Palestine and Israel are called self-hating Jews and for their own opposition to a war where shamefully Israel wantonly destroyed property and lives without conscience, and without justification.

I am ashamed to be Jew because this is the seconde time that Israel carried out such mass destruction in Lebanon, the first time being in 1982.

I am ashamed to be a Jew when I read comments such as made by Bruce in New York who glorifies Israel for their crimes against humanity with complete indifference and demonizes and villifies the victims of Israel's brutal oppression.

I am ashamed to be a Jew because of the oppressive history of Jews who now oppress others with complete indifference.

I am ashamed to be a Jew for the continuous outrcry of anti-semitism heard througout the world even for the slightest criticism of Israel, while Israel itself is a racist society.

I am ashamed to be a Jew because no one has learned anything from history, and it repeats itself only with the ugly roles changing.
