There were several hundred thousand Hindus driven from Kashmir - that is true. But for you to suggest that nearly half a million Hindus were ethnically cleansed (ie killed) is wildly inaccurate.

Pakistan has consistently advocated for a referendum. And while that would be an imperfect way of solving the problem, it's certainly more accountable than India's policy of leaving the issue to military force.
Again, just to be clear: yes Canada should work collaboratively with India for a range of reasons. But at the same time, we need to be intellectually honest in our assessment of India's 'democratic-ness'. Democracy is about more than just holding elections & saying "look how great we are!".

Ah, ad hominem attacks... always the sign of an informed, intelligent debator.
It may come as a shock to you, but there are many reasonable people who think we should try to understand complex situations rather than simply labelling all those who disagree with us as 'terrorists'.
