Its impossible to prove a negative so the onus is on the individual to show some evidence of torture. Maher Arar showed not a single sign of torture not physical or psychological and the commission was negligent in not demanding evidence. If I sued the government you bet they would demand evidence before handing over ten million dollars. But I do not belong to a cherished group that is allowed to break our hate laws daily and then shout racism when we take any steps to defend ourselves. We are losing this country.
