Al, how does this inquiry stack up against the Arar inquiry? I confess that I still feel uneasy about the results of the Arar Inquiry. So many millions and still so many questions about what exactly was the nature of the "torture". Not to mention, so many other cases of Canadians unjustly detained, even killed abroad in Muslim countries. Where is the Sampson Inquiry or the inquiry about the Canadian-Iranian photographer (name escapes me) who was detained and murdered in Iran? Who will hold Saudi Arabia and Iran to account if not the Canadian government?
