The idea that only Catholics should be funded is discrimination, pure and simple, and the Supreme Court never said otherwise. For the real facts, and the actual legal documents, see www.equalfunding.org/resources.html
The Supreme Court clearly stated that if Ontario wishes to fund other faith-based schools, it has the power to do so.
Ontario is now in violation of its obligations under basic International Human Rights Law for the discrimination it is practicing. See: www.equalfunding.org/faqs_18.html#faqs18
The only politically viable way to fix this is the extend funding to the small minority of schools that are currently excluded, as John Tory has proposed.
With all the rednecks and anti-religious bogotry I am hearing, I think Tory is taking a very principled stand.
