What would Churchill (and Neville Chamberlain) say? I wonder, did we learn nothing from the long lead up to the 2nd world war, the attempts to appease the nazis?

In the end, when you appease powerful and demanding people --especially those who have an agenda -- they observe your appeasement and make bigger and bigger demands.

When a person has a cancerous growth you can't just hope it will go away.
