Being a muslim woman(white european) who wears a veil (of her own choice for spiritual reasons) Ah! I find it hard to believe that elections canada is making changes to accomodate others like myself. If I really wanted to vote because I thought it would make a difference I would vote either way. To make this such an issue shows a great deal of intolerance and bigotry on the part of those who apose it. The number of veiled women voting is so slim to suggest fraud is ludicrous.
It does make me feel a whole lot better about Canada, a nation inclusive to all.
People get this through your thick heads "all religious people ( muslim, jew, hindu, christian etc) cover their bodies out of deep faith and devotion to their Creator" and no other reason this has always been and will always be. Try being a little more tolerant to others. The world is so much more beautiful with more shape size and colour. Viva la difference.
