Unfortunately, consistency kicks in once such an exception is made and by what principle can we say that such an accommodation applies to Muslim woman but to no one else who wishes to hide his or her face? Our electoral process is among the fairest and best monitored in the world, and if there is a religious prohibition that prevents an individual from complying with the rules of voting, then they must chose between their beliefs and their rights under a democracy. They have the right to vote, and they also have the right not to vote. It is up to the individual.
Do you believe that an individual has the right to be photographed for a passport or driver's license with his or her face fully covered? What about for a security pass in a high-risk workplace? What about a police officer? What about an airline security worker?
