Well explained, Bill. It is absurd that we must now legislate the obvious.

I would like to know why Elections Canada felt it necessary to consult Muslim groups on how to run elections in the first place. Is this Elections Canada or Elections Afghanistan? Elections Canada need only determine that photo ID is required, not how to require photo ID in a way that accommodates a fringe group of covered women (small in number even amongst Muslims in Canada, let alone the country).

If federal agencies are making decisions on the approval of Muslim groups, then we have abandoned stewardship of our own national identity, values, and future. Ours is a profoundly confused country, having no clue anymore as to what it is or should be. It seems to share all the failures of public education, no longer asserting its authority, abdicating it's authority to others, no longer demanding adherence to its rules, no longer discipling miscreants, no longer demanding productivity & excellence, and content to reward laziness, sloppiness, and indifference.

I blame The Sixties for this.
