The very loud/angry actions of the democrats (e.g. Pelosi, Kennedy, etc...) show that they both want a democratic president in 2008 but know that they have to have the soldiers home before, i.e. they know that if a democratic president brings home the soldiers from Iraq (abandons Iraq) - with the obvious repurcussions therefrom - then the democratic party will suffer for generations afterwards. On the otherhand, those running for president (e.g. Clinton, Obama, Edwards) are even more shrill about it - their priorities seem to be more shortsighted.
Yes ... it seems pretty obvious that politics rules here rather than reason.

Question: If Clinton is the next president, can she really end the war and abandon Iraq?
