Who's to blame for Aqsa's death?

Re: A Malignant Vestige Of 'Tradition,' Anver Emon, Dec 14.

When I was young, a not-too-subtle tactic I employed to avoid blame was to accuse my accomplices of making me do a wrongful act ("they made me do it"). Needless to say I had to face the consequences and receive a lecture on taking responsibility for my actions. So what am I to think when Professor Anver Emon associates Western influence to honour killings in Muslim countries? He goes on to assure us that we should therefore not be surprised to see women becoming victims of tradition in those countries.

Further, he concludes his argument by suggesting that we in Canada should change to better accommodate newcomers so that an act found almost exclusively in Muslim countries will not take place here.

Prof. Emon's article could have been considerably shorter by simply stating: It's your fault. You made us do it.
