Who are those who are called Palestinians? The world through the acts of terror perpetrated by the PLO, Arafat and Abbas and the rest of the terrorists have come to believe that there are millions of poor Palestinians - many of whom live in refugee camps having no homes to go to and that they are interested in making peace with Israel and in having their own country. But are they really? Or is their peace spelled PIECE? Israelis would love to have PEACE.

When surveys of those residing in refugee camps have taken place, it seems that many of them came to what is now Israel before 1948 from countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and many others. Many of their names are in fact Egyptian place names. They came because of the work they could get here, also because of the opportunities for education and health care. This is just the same for those Moslems living in Judea and Samaria. The majority arrived after 1967. They were not there when Israel gained the land from Jordan.

What these people didn't expect is that they would be held hostages by their own countries for having come to work in Israel and after 1948 not being allowed to return home.

Yes there are refugees. Most of them may not be Palestinians but they are Moslems. Did you know that Jews who were born in Israel prior to 1948 were also known as Palestinians? During WWII there was a Palestinian Regiment and it was made up mostly of Jews. Despite the efforts by the British to enlist an equal number of Jews and Arabs into this Palestine Regiment, three times more Jews volunteered than Arabs. As a result, on August 6, 1942, three Palestinian Jewish battalions and one Palestinian Arab battalion were formed. At this time, the Regiment was principally involved in guard duties in Egypt and North Africa. The British also wanted to undermine efforts of Hajj Amin al-Husayni (Arafat's uncle) who successfully drummed up Arab support of the Axis Powers against the Allies.

Israel approached the UN back in the 50s to request permission to close the refugee camps resettle the people in towns and villages. The answer: they were not allowed to do this. So where you ask has the funding to keep these people in these camps come from all these years? Anyone who thinks that the Arab states have helped by paying their fare share would be shocked to see that most of the money to care for Moslem refugees has come from the tax payers in the US and Canada. And so it will continue. Again it seems that their brothers throughout the Moslem world value these refugees only when they carry out acts of terror. But now that Saddam Hussein is dead, which country is paying families the $25,000 that he did.

It seems that Canadian MPs have not done their homework as stated on CHQR last night and examined just what has happened to previous donations. Until they do, good money will disappear just like those previous donations.
