Hey, you wouldn't happen to be one of those law school grads who wrote the article in the National Post today? You are making the same argument that they did which is they don't care what Mark Steyn said in the book excerpt published by Macleans but they think it is their right in a democracy to have the exactly the same opportunity. Their right. As if fairness can be imposed on private enterprises. As if not every one at one time or another hasn't felt offended by some article somewhere about an issue they feel strongly about. So you write a letter to the editor or you start blogging about it but who would think of making a complaint to a human rights commission? You can't legislate publishers and media to give equal space and time to every opinion. All the media in Canada have a bias, not just Macleans or CanWest but the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail, all of them.
If the market place doesn't like the particular bias of a certain media, they don't have to read it or listen to it, and if enough people in the market place don't like it, it will go out of business. That's the power of the market place in a democracy.
