CBC former editor-in-chief to head Al-Jazeera's English bureau posted by Tasha
While I apreciate Tasha's thinking here (and elsewhere), I beg to disagree. And I realize that she is joking.
To move most CBC personel from the CBC to al-Jezeera simply shifts the problem of anti-Semitism from one place to another. Tony Burman supported left-anti-Semitism at the CBC. Witness promotion of jewbaiter Neil MacDonald to the mid-east bureau, and of terrorist sympathizer Nahlah Ayed at the bureau. And think of the various hysterical "documentaries" at CBC Newsworld supporting appeasement against the War on Terrorism.
Tony Burman supports left-fascism: the destruction of Western-based democracy, in favour of anti-democratic Islamism or other radical left totalitarian systems (Cuba, Venzuela). This is why he took the very senior al-Jezeera post: to promote his pro-fascistic view. Al Jezeera was banned from Canada because of its Jew hatred. Mr. Burman wants to spread this Jew hatred all over North America and elsewehre. The jackboot totalitarianism that Bruman promoted at the CBC will now be promoted elsewhere.
ps: I hate to say anything positive of CBC News, but since John Cruikshank took over, there has been an ever-so-slight move to tone down some of the more hysterical far-left inanities at the network. Sure, CBC journalists will still support the federal Liberal (look at the dreadful Don Newman at his "Politics" show). But under Burman the quality of the CBC news was so biased, it was simply dreadful, sheer propaganda. I notice that post-Burman, ther CBC has tried to be more more circumspect in their pro-left propaganda.
