Al, your phrase "Muslim Fantasy Land" can equally apply to the west and in particular the U.S. and Canadian governments.
Quite a number of years ago, the descriptive phrase "moderate Muslims" was coined to differentiate Islamic extemists from what the West wishfully deluded itself to believe was the vast majority of the world's non extremist Muslims.
The West put on rose colored glasses to generally see "moderate Muslims" as Muslims who do not advocate terrorism and who the West could reasonably relate to and could rationally dialogue, deal and negotiate with.
As recent history has shown, the phrase "moderate Muslims" is a complete misnomer. The vast majority of so called "moderate Muslims have shown they cannot be reasonably related to and cannot be reasonably dialogued, dealt or negotiated with.
There has been considerable Muslim immigration to Europe, America and Canada, mostly from Arabic countries.
The vast majority of Muslim immigrants hold fast to their Islamic roots and see themselves as Muslims first. In the result their loyalties to their new home countries take second place whenever they perceive that the policies and attitudes of their new home countries conflict with the dictates of Islam or sympathies the vast majority of the world's Muslims share vis a vis Palestinians and their perceptions of Israel and the U.S. that they see as "The Great Satan" for any support the U.S. gives to Israel.
From all the newsreports and news analysis over the years, it is clear that the vast majority of those Muslim immigrants have not integrated themselves into Western society. They take advantage of all the comforts, technologies, laws and freedoms of Western society, but they have given little back.
The vast majority of Muslims exploit the laws and freedoms of the West, in particular the freedom of speech. They exploit their growing political influence in terms of government policies. To further gain support for their views and agendas, they exploit the commonality of their pathological Jew hatreds with old fashioned antisemitism in the West to induce Westerners to join with them based only onb the common hatreds and dislike of Jews. Those Westerners so beguiled are blind to the fact that Islamists have little regard and respect for Christianity, which they see, like Judaism to be inferior.
The vast majority of Muslim immigrants have organized into many propaganda and advocacy organizations, that may differ somewhat in focus and methodology, but virtually all are monolithically uniform in their anti-Israel views and anti-American or anti any other country or organizations that supports Israel in any way.
How these Muslims and their organizations express their Pro-Arab/Islam/Palestinian and anti-Israel views, very often reveals the Jew hatred and hatred of Western society that their agendas are really premisd on.
Most Muslim immigrants to the West and their various organizations, largely function as propagandists against Israel and America. They are also actively attack any person, organiation or government spokesperson that might criticize Muslims in even the slightest ways.
Their aggressive efforts to influence Western thinking vis a vis Israel and to stifle any adverse criticism of Muslims and Islam has met with much success.
President Bush in his speech following 9/11, declared that the U.S. would go after the terrorists responsible for the atrocities of 9/11 and bring them to justice or bring justice to them. President Bush further defined who America's enemies were in that regard by saying "either you are for us or against us".
While the large majority Muslim immigrants to the West and their advocacy organizations and Muslim/Arab/Palestinan leaders purport to be against terrorism, when it comes to particular terrorist acts committed by any number of Muslim Islamic fundamentalists/extremists, they ignore, excuse or justify that terrorism, claiming America brought it on itself for their support of Israel or when it comes to Israel, terrorism is understandable and justifiable resistance to occupation.
Is it any wonder therefor that Kamal Nawash and Muslim members of the Free Muslims Coalition (FMC)who promoted and sponsored a protest march against terrorism, found no support from the leaders of every other major Muslim organization.
Is it any wonder why the majority of Muslims, their organizations and their leaders shunned the march and even declined to take a public stand against terrorism and extremism.
Doubtless, the majority of Muslim immigrants to Western countries, their organizations and their leaders and the majority of the world's Muslims, their organizations, their countries, and their leaders probably do not want to get their hands bloody as do the Islamic extremists.
Nonetheless they are guilty of aiding and abetting those extremists by the financial and propaganda support they provide to those Islamic extremists and the fact that the vast Muslim majority of the Muslim world not only stands silent, but refuse to stand against Muslim/Islamic extremists.
In being guilty of aiding and abetting, the majority of the World's Muslims including those here in the West that live amongst us are just as guilty of the evil atrocities carried out by Islamic Muslim extremists in the name of Islam.
Kamal Nawash and Muslim members of the Free Muslims Coalition (FMC) unfortunately do not represent mainstream Muslim/Islamic thought.
Mainstream Islamic/Muslim thought and actions defines Islam and its relationship to the West and that thought and action is what is advocated by the Islamic extremists, fundamentalists and their allies, the so called "Moderate Muslims".
It would be a good thing to recall that according to mainstream Islamic thinking, Islam is the last word of G_d, is superior to Judaism and Christianity which it replaced and Islam's manifest destiny is to become the world's religion through Jihad - holy war.
It would be a good thing to recall that while demanding of the West, the utmost respect for Muslims and Islam, mainstream world Muslims and Islamists do not accord that same respect to Westerners and they are intolerant of any views that are not in accord with their own Islamic/Muslim views.
It would be a good thing to recall that many of the principles of Islam as advocated by the Islamic fundamentalists are an anathema to the Judeo-Christian religions, values and perceptions and to that extent must be seen as our enemies for they are enemies of our way of life.
Islam may ultimately go through an enlightenment where it no longer is defined by the current Mainstream Muslim/Islamists and becomes a religion and society that is as tolerant and respectful of the West as the West has sought to be with Islam.
It would be a good thing if Mr. Bush returned to the clairity of his committment to bring America's enemies to justice or or bring justice to them and his simple definition of who are America's enemies - "Either you are for us or you are against us"!
It would be a good thing if not only Mr. Bush heeded his own words, but all Westerners and their leaders harkened to Mr. Bush's words.
